Pissing Picos

We left the lunch stop, togged  up in our waterproofs. Just as well. A couple of miles up the road, the heavens opened on us. Pissing Picos. Twisty wet roads, almost brand new tyres (about 200 miles worn) and road works. Just what I needed. Surprisingly though, the further we went into the mountains, the drier it got. Then those twisty roads became fun. The tops of the mountains were shrouded in cloud, which bolloxed our plans for when we arrived at Fuente De, as we had planned to go up in the cable car. It is the only reason people come to Fuente De, to ride the cable car and maybe take one of the walking trails back. Apart from the cable car, there are two hotels and that's it.

Cable car to knowhere!

We were quickly checked in to our room, which has, or rather would have, a superb view of the mountain. After a quick wash and brush up, we had a quite scoot round the sights, then had dinner and a beer. In fact we had 2 'beers', a translation issue meaning we had two poxy radlers with our meal! Not nice.

Why?

Now it's time for bed.

We have quite a long day tomorrow and will certainly be on the road before the cable car opens at 10am, so that's a bit of a disappointment. Mind you, it could still be too cloudy. Not sure what the weather holds for us. Whatever, we can't change it.

More tomorrow.
